Pedestrian Accident near R Street Left One Casualty

EUREKA, CA (November 16, 2022) – Monday evening, one victim sustained injuries in a pedestrian collision on 4th Street.

Police responded to the scene around 7:00 p.m., near R Street on November 14th.

At this time, the events leading up to the incident remain unclear. However, reports indicate that first responders located at least one injured pedestrian in the area.

Medical crews transported the involved pedestrian to a nearby hospital for further treatment of unspecified injuries. Although, authorities have not yet released their name or place of residency.

Following preliminary duties, police ruled out drugs and alcohol as a potential factor in the crash. In addition, crews closed three lanes of Fourth Street to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

Motorists were diverted to the intersection of Fourth and S Streets as police continue to investigate the scene. An active investigation is underway.
