A man was fatally shot in Seattle’s Northgate area early Wednesday, according to police.

Officers arrived at the 10500 block of Aurora Avenue North around 2:30 a.m., and outside an ARCO gas station they found a man in his late 30s with a gunshot wound, according to Officer Shawn Weismiller, a Seattle Police Department spokesperson.

Police provided aid until the Seattle Fire Department arrived and took over medical care. The man died at the scene, Weismiller said.

Weismiller said it was not clear what led to the shooting, and officers were unable to find a suspect.

Nearby streets were all open shortly before 6 a.m. Wednesday, Seattle Department of Transportation said on social platform X.
