James Edward Davis

James Edward Davis, 84, of Hackett, Arkansas left his earthly home on March 12, 2024. James was born October 14, 1939 in Bentonville, Arkansas to Orville and Bessie Shaw Davis. James was a veteran of the United States Army, member of the NRA and Park Hill Church of Christ. He enjoyed shooting guns, fly fishing, making and flying model airplanes, was an avid collector of everything and anything he could use to make keepsakes for his family. James was preceded in death by sons Monroe Luther and Ralph Wayne Davis, parents Orville and Bessie Davis as well as siblings Kenneth Davis, Patty Newman and Sandra Bird. James is survived by his wife of 55 years, Katherine Davis of the home, children Christy Powdrill of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Karen Douthitt and her husband Dean of Rogers, Arkansas and Janet Davis of Van Buren, Arkansas along with six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

James’ funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Lewis Funeral Chapel 2911 W Hwy 10 in Greenwood, Arkansas with Bro. Rob Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Hackett, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Stanley Burkhart, Hayden Russell, Jamal Powdrill, David Meek, Jon Roberts and Nick Mixon. Honorary pallbearer will be Michael Belk. The family will receive friends and other family from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Friday, March 15, 2024 at the funeral home.
