The body of a 64-year-old former actress was found in open space behind a San Jacinto business, but there were no indications of anything suspicious, authorities said Wednesday.

The remains of Robyn Bernard of San Jacinto were located about 4 a.m. Tuesday by passers-by in a field near the intersection of Commonwealth and San Jacinto avenues, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Patrol deputies were called to the location and conducted a preliminary investigation.

“There was no evidence of foul play,” sheriff’s Sgt. Deirdre Vickers said.

It was unclear why or exactly how long Bernard, a former soap opera star, had been at the location.

According to TMZ, the Texas-born actress landed a major role on the show “General Hospital” in 1984 and went on to appear as a regular in 145 episodes.

She also had minor roles in other shows and was last credited with on-screen work in 2002.

There was no word on how long she had been a Riverside County resident.

Vickers said the investigation into Bernard’s death was ongoing. An autopsy was pending.
