A Homegrown Music Festival coming to Austin this April

Mar. 13—Something new is coming to the Paramount Theatre this April: five bands for $25.

Austin Area Arts, in partnership with South Central Athlete and Dusty's Bar and Lounge will be presenting the Mower County Grown Music Festival. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. on April 27.

It will be an opportunity for people to partake in a full day of music and enjoyment for one low price.

The day will feature an extensive line-up of musicians that got their start in Mower County with the day being kicked off by the Part Time Ex's. Following will be eclectic act Prairie Clamor, Lyle natives Six Mile Grove and Austin's Whalen and Willows.

Closing out the night will be the iconic Charlie Parr.

The idea for the festival came about as Austin Area Arts noticed the high ticket prices and other expenses incurred to see quality live entertainment, making some music inaccessible to many

According to a press release from Austin Area Arts, the concert is trying to break the status quo by bringing the music back to the people.
