3 Pronounced Dead after Solo-Vehicle Crash Near Country Road 57

WILLOWS, CA (June 21, 2023) – Friday afternoon, Johnny Wong was injured in a solo-car accident on Interstate 5 that killed three people. The incident occurred at around 4:00 p.m. along the northbound lanes of Interstate 5, near County Road 57. According to reports, a gray 2007 Toyota Sienna made an unsafe maneuver and went off the roadway. The Toyota then crossed the center divider and rolled over before coming to a stop right-side up. Investigators later stated that the sudden turning movement was possibly caused by a blown-out tire. Unfortunately, the driver, a 59-year-old man, and the two male passengers, ages 49 and 48 years old, sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. Meanwhile, medical responders transported a fourth passenger to Enloe Medical Center in Chico for treatment of minor injuries. He was later identified as 50-year-old Johnny Wong of Millbrae.
