Samsung Galaxy M55 5G with 6.7″ FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, 50MP front camera announced


Samsung has introduced the Galaxy M55 5G, the company’s latest mid-range M series smartphone, in Brazil after rumours. The phone packs a 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display, same as the predecessor, but this replaces the Exynos 1380 in the M54 with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC.

It has 8GB of RAM, has a 50MP rear camera with 1.5˚ OIS and VDIS along with an 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro cameras. There is a 50MP front camera for the phone.

The phone runs Android 14 with One UI 6, and the company has promised 4 generations of Android updates and 5 years of security updates for the phone. It equipped with Samsung Knox Vault, a unique hardware-based security and tamper-proof solution for the first time in the M series.

It has an in-display fingerprint scanner and packs a 5000mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging for the first time in the M series, but it doesn’t come with a charger in the box.

Pricing and availability

The Samsung Galaxy M55 comes in Dark Blue and Green colors and is priced at 3,199 Brazilian Real (USD 640 / Rs. 53,432) for the single 8GB + 256GB version, but there is a 200 R$ discount during the sale.

Samsung also introduced the Galaxy M15 5G in Brazil, but this is just the rebranded version of the Galaxy F15 5G, which was launched in India earlier this month.
