Five Pronounced Dead after Single-Vehicle Crash near 31st Avenue

PUYALLUP, WA (January 31, 2024) – Early Sunday morning, five occupants were killed in a solo-car accident on State Route 512.

The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m., on the eastbound lanes of the freeway near 31st Avenue on January 14th.

According to the WSP Trooper John Dattilo, at least five people were killed in the crash including two 11-year-old girls, the 29-year-old driver, and two other passengers. Their identities were not yet disclosed by the officers at this time.

Furthermore, the troopers blocked all eastbound lanes throughout the morning, and it was reopened just before 1:00 p.m.

It was unknown what caused the crash, and the WSP’s Major Accident Investigation Team is handling further investigation.
