One of the best ski destinations in the U.S. in 2024 is in Vermont, according to The Family Vacation Guide

The resort boasts the most annual snowfall.

There’s still time for an epic ski trip this winter and, in New England, there’s no better place to go than Stowe, according to The Family Vacation Guide.

The guide recently named Stowe, Vermont among the top 10 skiing locations in the U.S. Stowe ranked No. 6.

The guide analyzed 50 of the most popular U.S. ski resorts, taking into account the following five factors: Average high temperature, average low temperature, average annual snowfall, Google searches between December 2022 and November 2023, the year-on-year search difference, and the amount of Instagram posts. Each of those factors were given a score out of 10 and averaged together. Stowe’s overall score was a 7.34 out of 10.

The No. 1 ski destination in the U.S. is Breckenridge, Colo., which scored an 8.97 out of 10.

Stowe had an average high temperature of 42 degrees, an average low temperature of 27.83 degrees, an average annual snowfall of 244 inches, and 116,800 Google searches and 109,524 hashtag mentions on Instagram.

The popular Vermont ski destination had the most snowfall among the top 10 resorts, tying with Whiteface Mountain in New York at 244 inches. It also ranked the third-highest in Google searches, even though it experienced a 10% decrease in searches from the previous year, according to the study.

Stowe, no stranger to accolades, was recently named among the 20 best ski resorts in the world by Conde Nast Traveler, and one of the best ski towns in North America by USA Today.
