Cami And Jax Are Making Waves With Sporty, Stylish Swimwear

Following

Let’s face it: good swimwear is hard to find. Stylish swimwear is not always comfortable, while the most practical of all swimwear is usually not all that stylish. One brand has a happy medium between both—Cami and Jax.

Co-founded by sisters, Jackie and Camille Brady will soon celebrate their 10-year anniversary, and with a good reason. “It can take years to find quality swimwear that is comfortable and fits your personal style,” said Jackie Brady. “It’s like finding a good pair of jeans; sometimes it takes years to find your perfect brand, but once you do, it’s a game changer.”

Cami and Jax is a women-owned and operated swimwear brand that makes sportswear-quality, stylish swimwear. They use supportive, flattering fabric with high compression, and it’s double lined, seamless, and smooth. “Our fits are a balance of confidence and class,” said Brady. “It has taken time, but I feel like we’ve built up a solid book of repeat business with our approach.”

The Brady sisters are from Kauai, Hawaii, and have a history in competitive surfing. After moving to Santa Monica to create their brand, they set out to make surf-friendly swimwear. “Growing up on Kauai as competitive surfers, we were in swimsuits daily,” she adds. “We were testing a lot of different swimwear brands and learned through trial and error what we liked and didn’t like.”

The brand’s bestseller is the Margot One Piece swimsuit, which has gathered fabric that expands at the bust, highlighting a tight waist. “With this design, the suit is flattering on most silhouettes,” said Camille Brady.

Another bestseller is their Christy Top, which has durable knots at the back, offering support and shape for all sizes, and the Lulu Bottom, which has a retro, sporty look. This summer, the brand has expanded to include clothing, like their first dress and skirt that can be worn both in and out of the water. “We wanted to make swimwear you could wear doing an array of sports,” said Camille Brady.

This summer, they’ve also seen their Gisele Dress and Dani Skirt become a fan favorite for golfers and tennis players, too. It’s made of their “trusty swimwear fabric,” she adds.

What they really specialize in are their surf suits for women. “Before putting out our suits, we test them over and over ourselves,” said Jackie Brady. “Our testing processes led us to launch the Charlie One Piece this Summer. We wanted a high neck, long sleeve, full coverage surf suit for women who want more coverage and protection from the elements, so we made one.”

This summer, the brand collaborated with property Rancho Santana, a property on the emerald coast of Nicaragua, for a swimsuit that represents the spirit of Central America. They call it the Victoria One Piece in a dark red color they call “Rancho Red.” The swimsuit is available onsite at the hotel’s boutique and surf shop. It was a collaboration with the hotel.

“The team at Rancho Santana chose the color Rancho Santana Red,” said Jackie Brady. “It’s a rich earthy red that emulates the hues and colors of Nicaragua.”

The brand has their own boutique in Santa Monica, which has helped them develop a loyal following.

“Women, stylists, and celebrities trust our product,” said Camille Brady. “The life span of our suits is long, so customers are confident in their purchase and know our quality is high. Our boutique in Los Angeles also sets us apart – we personalize each experience providing one-on-one private fittings. There aren't many companies or brands where you are able to get fitted by the designers.”
