61-Year-Old Ridgecrest Woman Pronounced Dead after 2-Car Accident near Highway 58

BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 26, 2024) – One woman was killed late Wednesday morning and Jesus Medina was hurt in a two-car crash on Highway 14. The incident occurred at approximately 10:58 a.m., near the westbound Highway 58 off-ramp.

As per reports, a collision occurred between the driver of a westbound 2005 Chevrolet 3500 and a 2015 Chrysler traveling northbound on Highway 14. However, additional details leading up to the incident remain unclear. The 61-year-old Ridgecrest woman, who was driving the Chrysler, was declared deceased at the scene by first responders.

Simultaneously, paramedics transported her passenger, 63-year-old Jesus Medina, to Antelope Valley Hospital for minor injuries. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office will disclose the identity of the deceased female driver once the next of kin has been notified.

Police have ruled out intoxication as a contributing factor in the incident. Bakersfield Officials are urging witnesses to the crash to contact Officer Key at the CHP Mojave Area office at 661-823-5500.
