The women's volleyball program of La Salle has maintained a rich tradition of success over the years, guided by the esteemed coach Ramil de Jesus, who boasts 305 career wins at the helm.
With 12 UAAP titles under their belt, the current generation of Lady Spikers, led by reigning league MVP Angel Canino, continues to uphold the legacy that has defined La Salle's dominance in collegiate volleyball.
Keeping La Salle's winning tradition
“Champion po kami last year so kailangan namin ipakita kung sino kami, hindi lang dahil champion kami last year kundi dahil sa history ng La Salle. Marami nang napatunayan ang La Salle, so kailangan namin kapitan yun at ipagpatunayan pa,” said Canino.
For Amie Provido, La Salle's ace blocker, who demonstrated her prowess with five blocks against National University, the achievements of their predecessors serve as inspiration for them to strive for excellence.
“Alam naman po natin ‘yung [legacy ng] previous na Lady Spikers and ‘yun po ‘yung pinagkukunan po namin ng lakas na gusto din po namin patunayan na kung ano ‘yung iniwan nila, kaya din po namin,” Provido said.
Sophomore standout Shevana Laput offered a straightforward yet powerful insight into what motivates the Lady Spikers amidst challenges. It's a sentiment deeply ingrained in every Lasallian who has proudly represented the green-and-white.
"It's the Lasallian spirit. Puso. Animo. That's all I can say - it's just the pride of our school," Laput concluded.
