Optimism in north Alabama: Huntsville officials continue to be optimistic about the numbers they have seen in recent days. "When I was preparing my remarks, I started out with 'all is well,'" Pam Hudson, CEO of Huntsville's Crestwood Hospital, said at a Wednesday briefing. "I lined through that because that seemed cocky. I changed it to 'so far so good.' We're on solid track to claim success to flattening the curve. That doesn't mean we have beat COVID. It just means what we're doing is working; what you're doing is working. It also means the number of cases we are seeing that need hospitalization are well within the capabilities of your hospitals. That's how we need to keep it so we don’t experience what some other communities are experiencing with the overwhelming number of cases and the difficulty of keeping the supply chain for those. So, so far, so good." Hudson cautioned, though, that "one graduation party, one funeral, one wedding, one gathering where people are not careful" could lead to a spike of cases.
