Beverlee Mae Ward Anzalone of Framingham, MA, dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away early Saturday morning March 9, 2024 at the age of 92. She died in her sleep of natural causes, surrounded by her family.

She was born August 31, 1931 in Rutland, Vermont to Oliver D. and Olga (nee Johnson) Ward of Pittsford, VT. Beverlee was raised on their Pittsford estate which served as a gentleman’s farm and inn. As a child she enjoyed riding her pony and romping through the fields with her beloved Cocker Spaniel pups. She attended Pittsford grammar school and for a time, Moravian Academy in Bethlehem, PA before graduating from Rutland high school in the class of 1949. She earned her BFA in psychology from the University of Vermont - class of 1954. In September of 1955 she married John Anzalone of Rutland and soon after moved to Massachusetts. In 1959 they purchased their first and only home in Framingham where Beverlee lived for 65 years until her passing.

Beverlee was an inspirational figure to family, extended family and friends. Intrepid, creative and nurturing, she was always exploring life’s offerings. She was an active member of the Framingham chapter of The League of Women Voters starting in the 1970’s and for a time served as President. She loved attending the symphony, theater or ballet in Boston and was equally at home working on the landscaping around the house. Later in life she became more interested in spiritual and metaphysical practices. She was a member of a local Reiki circle and attended yoga and meditation retreats at the Ananda Sangha centers in CA and RI.

Beverlee was predeceased by her husband, sister Barbara and brothers Lawrence and William (Bud). She is survived by her five children: sons Mark, Peter and his wife Ying-Ying, Joseph and his wife Paola, James and his wife Jami and daughter Merrilee and her husband Ahmad. She is affectionately called “Nonna” by her eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
