Severe storms may bring hail, heavy rains to Austin on Friday during SXSW concerts
Heads up, Austin and South by Southwest attendees: There could be hail two inches in diameter coming down on Friday, meteorologists at the National Weather Service said.
The storms could be accompanied by heavy rain, strong wind, and tornadoes. Current predictions show an initial round of scattered storms from 5 to 10 a.m. Friday, followed by more scattered storms from 2 to 9 p.m., meteorologists Jason Runyen and Matt Brady said.

The storms will be accompanied by a mild cold front, with temperatures dropping into the low 60s by Saturday morning. Austin currently faces a level 2, or "slight risk," of heavy rain leading to rapid onset flooding on Friday and Saturday.
Rain and severe storm chances will continue through the weekend, and clear up by Monday.
