Prof. Dr. Cornelia Ruhe from the University of Mannheim Elected to Study Foundation’s Board of Trustees

The Mannheim literary and media scholar was elected to the committee of Germany’s oldest and largest organization for the promotion of gifted students in February.

Cornelia Ruhe has been involved with the German National Academic Foundation for many years, in particular as a liaison lecturer, in the selection of doctorates and from 2019 to 2023 also as a member of the revision committee. She also helped shape the study foundation’s educational program as an academy lecturer and working group leader. Ruhe has been a professor of Romance literature and media studies at the University of Mannheim since 2010 and a member of the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences since 2018.

The Board of Trustees of the Study Foundation consists of up to 21 members, eleven of which are delegated members, including representatives of the federal government, the states and six large scientific organizations, as well as up to ten additional elected members who are elected by the delegated members at the suggestion of the Board of Directors . After the departure of several elected members, the physician and medical historian Prof. Dr. was appointed in February alongside Ruhe. Dominik Groß (RWTH Aachen), the legal scholar Prof. Dr. Angelika Nußberger (University of Cologne), Secretary General of the Volkswagen Foundation Dr. Georg Schütt and Dr. Jürgen Theuerkauf, acting chairman of the Alumni Association of the Studienstiftung eV, was elected to the Board of Trustees of the Studienstiftung.

The term of office of the newly elected members begins with the 74th meeting of the Board of Trustees on July 4, 2024.
