One of the most quintessential meals to serve up on St. Patrick’s Day is corned beef and cabbage.
This hearty dish can easily be made in a crock pot, so you can celebrate the luck of the Irish while your festive feast cooks. With a handy crock pot in your kitchen, dinner can be ready right when your hunger strikes and with their array of tech features you can brown, saute, simmer and serve all in one pot.
But with so many different crock pots available today, it can be a real challenge to pick the right one.
To help, here are some of the most recommended crock pots you can buy for your St. Patrick’s Day fare, including models from Cuisinart and All-Clad.
- Cuisinart 3-In-1 Cook Central Multi-Cooker (6 Qt): “The Cuisinart Cook Central is designed for a perfect user experience every time. We mean it — this is the slow cooker. It has a roomy interior surface that eases browning proteins or stirring saucy, soupy dishes without mess,” Food & Wine says.
- All-Clad Gourmet Plus Slow Cooker with All-In One Browning (7 Qt): “This is so much more than a slow cooker. The All-Clad Gourmet Slow Cooker can saute, brown meat, simmer stews and cook rice! But having all these bells and whistles doesn’t take away from the quality of the slow-cooking feature,” Food Network says.
- Ninja Foodi PossibleCooker Pro Multi-Cooker (8.5 Qt): “The most impressive feature of this model is the Triple Fusion Heat Technology—the bottom heat allows you to sauté ingredients right in the pot, the side heat ensures even heat distribution, and the steam heat keeps everything moist while cooking,” Southern Living says.
- Crock-Pot Cook & Carry Programmable Slow Cooker (6 Qt): ”It has the classic stainless steel-and-black look that many people associate with slow cookers and while it does have a digital interface, the buttons and cooking options are kept to a minimum so it’s very intuitive and easy to use,” HGTV says.
- GreenPan 8-in-1 Programmable Electric Slow Cooker (6 Qt): “In the tests, it heated up quickly and sautéed and browned well. Dried beans cooked up just right (not too hard nor mushy) and pulled pork was fall-apart tender. The exterior also stayed cool the entire time the cooker was on, making it one of the safest ones I tested,” Serious Eats says.
