WhatsApp's latest beta update for Android, version 2.23.7.17, simplifies the process of sending high-definition (HD) media. Android users can now effortlessly share HD photos with just a single tap, eliminating the need to manually adjust settings.

The update introduces a new setting within the app, allowing users to choose their default media upload quality. Options include Standard quality for faster transmission with compression, or HD quality for higher resolution, albeit with a larger file size.

Setting HD Quality as Default

  1. Ensure you're using the latest beta version of WhatsApp (2.23.7.17).
  2. Navigate to Settings > Storage and Data.
  3. Select 'Media upload quality' and choose HD quality, then save your preference.

Sending HD Media

Once HD quality is set as default, sharing HD photos and videos becomes automatic:

  1. Open the desired chat.
  2. Tap the attachment icon and select Gallery.
  3. Choose the photo/video to send.
  4. The media will be uploaded in HD quality by default; simply tap Send.
