Two stabbings occurred in Seattle over the weekend, sending two people to the hospital slightly more than 24 hours apart, according to the Seattle Police Department.

The first occurred near Capitol Hill’s Cal Anderson Park Saturday morning around 9:30 a.m., according to Seattle police Officer Brian Pritchard.

Officers responded to the 1600 block of Nagle Place and found a 32-year-old man with a stab wound to his chest. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition, according to police.

The suspect, believed to be a man in his 20s, is still at large, Pritchard said. Witnesses told police there was an altercation before the stabbing, but it’s unclear what started it.

“They may have known each other,” Pritchard said Sunday.

On Sunday morning, shortly before 11:30 a.m., Seattle police responded to another reported stabbing, in downtown. It happened in the 1500 block of Third Avenue, near McDonald’s.

Again, there was some kind of altercation before the stabbing, police said. A 29-year-old man was taken to Harborview with a head wound. His injuries were not life threatening, police said.

“It was more of a slashing,” Pritchard said.

The suspect in the second stabbing, believed to be a man in his 20s, also had not been arrested by Sunday afternoon, according to police.
