The Texas Tech basketball team will get an extra day of rest before starting play in the Big 12 Tournament.

The Red Raiders wrapped the regular season Saturday with a 78-68 win over 11th-ranked Baylor. Tech is now 22-9 on the season and closed Big 12 play with an 11-7 record, earning a tie for third overall in the conference standings with Baylor.

Those marks ensures Texas Tech of a double-bye in the conference tournament, which begins Tuesday in the T-Mobile Center at Kansas City, Missouri. Here's what you need to know.

When does Texas Tech basketball play in the Big 12 Tournament?

The Red Raiders are the No. 4 overall seed in the Big 12 Tournament with Baylor having won the tiebreaker. Texas Tech's first game will come at 11:30 a.m. Thursday (either ESPN or ESPN2) with three possible opponents.

BYU, the 5-seed in the field, will play the winner of Tuesday's matchup between 12-seed UCF and 13-seed Oklahoma State. Whichever team wins that 11:30 a.m. game on Wednesday will face the Red Raiders Thursday morning.
