Marshall Baseball to Host Arkansas State for SBC Home Opening Weekend

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Baseball team (6-14, 0-3 Sun Belt) welcomes the Arkansas State Red Wolves (13-10, 1-2 Sun Belt) to Jack Cook Field for its first home Sun Belt Conference series of the season.

PRE-GAME NOTES

• Saturday's probable starter Bryce Blevins won his second SBC Pitcher of the Week award on Tuesday for his 9.0 inning, one-run performance at Southern Miss last Saturday. The sophomore has thrown a conference high 30 innings this year.
• Gio Ferraro registered his sixth multi-hit game of the season on Wednesday at WVU, tying Owen Ayers for the team lead.
• Ayers leads the Herd with 14 RBI, seven doubles and five homers this season.

ABOUT THE RED WOLVES

• Arkansas State split a pair of midweek games with Southern Illinois, winning at home on Tuesday and falling on the road Wednesday.
• The Red Wolves are tied atop the conference with a pair of shutouts this season, blanking Omaha and Arkansas Pine-Bluff.
• Austin Jaslove leads the SBC with a .412 batting average and 35 hits through 23 games this year.
