The Carpinteria girls track & field team dominated Santa Paula 97-37 while the boys fell by a score of 86-49 on Thursday.
“The Warriors performed well today,” Carpinteria coach Van Latham said. “The overall strength of the girls showed through as they kept their league record unblemished. The boys gave a valiant effort against the first-place Cardinals of Santa Paula.”
Girls
The Warriors won 12 of 16 events on the girls side, with Audrey Kramer leading the way as the winner of the 1,600 and 3,200-meter races.
Rounding out the standout wins for Carpinteria were Amarisse Camargo in the shot put (31-6), Mika Mullikin in the 300 hurdles (51.65), Vivian Huskins in the 100 meters (13.44) and Keilly Hernandez in the discus (95-8).
Boys
As for the boys, Sebastian Hernandez set a wind-legal personal record of 24.27 seconds to win the 200-meter race.
Meanwhile, Peter Campuzano won the 3,200-meter (11:51.83), Wes Chung won the high jump (5-4) and Nathan Carillo came out on top in the pole vault (9-6).
