Delaware State Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery on Friday night at CVS at 702 Naamans Road in Claymont.

Troopers said that at about 7 p.m. a male entered the store with a firearm, jumped over the counter, and demanded drugs from the pharmacist. While the pharmacist attempted to unlock the safe, the suspect fled the store without any proceeds, troopers said.

The suspect is described as Black, wearing a gray hoodie, dark pants and dark shoes, troopers said.

Delaware State Police Troop 2 Criminal Investigations Unit is investigating. Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this case to contact Detective Rob Strecker by calling (302) 365-8413. Then a little farther away on Sunday night, Pat’s Pizza at 1815 Philadelphia Pike was robbed about 10 p.m.

The investigation revealed an unknown male suspect armed with a handgun approached an employee as he was locking up and demanded the employee provide him with money from the business. The employee complied and the suspect ran southbound on Philadelphia Pike with an undisclosed amount of cash, troopers said.

The suspect is described as Black, wearing dark clothing and a mask, troopers said.
