55-Year-Old Man Dead after Two-Vehicle Crash near Covenant Lane

FELTON, CA (November 28, 2022) – Sunday night, a head-on collision on Mount Hermon Road claimed the life of Dale Erskine and left Menette Schults seriously injured. 

The incident happened around 4:28 p.m., near Covenant Lane in Santa Cruz County. 

According to reports, a westbound 2019 Lexus RX350 collided with a 2007 Volkswagen Beetle after crossing Mount Hermon and Covenant Lane. The impact of the collision caused the drivers of both vehicles to sustain major injuries.

Emergency crews arrived shortly after and pronounced the driver of the Beetle, 55-year-old Dale Erskine, dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the Lexus driver, 64-year-old Menette Schults, suffered from significant injuries. Paramedics transported the patient to Santa Clara County trauma center.
