Marion Tucker OBITUARY

Marion (Clark) Tucker passed away peacefully the morning of her 91st birthday. She was the daughter of Estelle Young Havilland (Ma Perkins) and John Clark.Marion graduated from Colusa High School in 1951, and in 1954 married the love of her life Delbert Tucker. Marion worked as a telephone operator for the Colusa Phone Company, Ma Bell. They lived in Colusa and raised their five children, Mardel, Ed, Jeff, Leanne and Lois until they moved to Woodland in 1973. She then went to work for the Woodland Clinic until she was diagnosed with Macular Degeneration and retired. She along with her dear friend Lucinda Talkington established the Outa Sight Group, and made things happen in Woodland to benefit those with low impact vision, such as requesting local restaurants provide large print on their menus, and Accessible Pedestrian Signals on busy street corners throughout Woodland. Marion enjoyed fishing for trout; she loved going to Dunsmuir, and fishing along the Sacramento River for striped bass and steelhead. She loved playing cards, Hand and Foot was her favorite, she taught her children how to play pinochle so that she and Delbert could play in the evenings, and listening to her books on tape, her favorite was murder mystery books.Her joy was her six grandchildren: Paul Whiteleather, Madeleine Coleman, Sarah Dawson, Andrew Dawson, Priscilla Grace (Kitty) Dawson and Mikaela Tucker, and her two great grandchildren; Emmymae and Gus Coleman. There will be a private family burial for her at St Joseph’s Cemetery alongside Delbert, and following a Celebration of Life for Marion on May 8th at Leisureville Mobil Home Park off of Gibson Road in Woodland, from 1:30 to 4:00 at the Clubhouse on Signature Drive. Friends and family are encouraged to join us and share our favorite memories of times with Marion.
