Life-inspired Engineering Molecular Systems Engineering Conference

13 March 2024 13:00 - 15 March 2024 16:30, Heidelberg, Germany

Introduction
Combining living materials with synthetic molecular systems is one of the main keys of Life-inspired molecular systems. The resulting hybrid systems will have new functionalities with a high transfer and translational potential. However, also the engineering of mechanisms found in nature with synthetic components will lead to new molecular systems promising solutions for social challenges. The applications of such life-inspired hybrid or fully synthetic systems cover a broad range of applications such as cancer therapy, nanorobots, multi-organoid-systems or even “living”computers.

The Life-inspired Molecular Systems Conference at Heidelberg University will encompass invited talks, contributed talks and posters on various topics in the field of life-inspired molecular systems engineering, including for instance:
  • synthetic cells
  • bottom-up assembly of immune functions
  • genetic engineering of immune cells
  • responsive polymers
  • microsensors and -actuators
  • 3D- and 4D printing
  • micro swimmers and nanorobots
  • biohybrid systems
  • drug delivery systems
  • responsive protein materials
  • programmable (bio)materials
  • CRISPR based tools for diagnose and treatment
  • computational approaches and modelling of molecular systems
