Sixth Year of Art Exhibits at Hector International Airport

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Hector International Airport has some new artwork thanks to the sixth year of the ArtWORKS program.

The exhibit by local artist Hope Thier features whimsical characters, with dinosaurs in bowties, playing hockey, and drinking wine.

The paintings are installed above the baggage area, with reprints being displayed at the departure gate.

The Arts Partnership chose to feature Thier’s work at the airport to bring a sense of whimsy during springtime to a relatively sterile environment.

“It’s not usual that we exhibit dinosaurs in bowties, but it felt like a great thing for spring. The colors are great, but the whimsy that she exhibits in her paintings is really fun.” says Tania Blanich, Executive Director of the Arts Partnership.
The exhibit will be up through July.
