Teen pedestrian dies in hit-and-run in Northwest Ohio

SANDUSKY TOWNSHIP, Ohio — An 18-year-old male has died after he was struck by a vehicle earlier this week while walking along a road in Northwest Ohio, according to the State Highway Patrol.

Anthony C. Ervin of Bloomdale, Ohio, was flown to Mercy Health-St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo after the hit-and-run incident on Wednesday. On Friday, he was transferred to Ohio State’s Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, where he died on Saturday.

According to the patrol, Ervin was on Napoleon Road near Terra Community College at about 10:43 p.m. when he was struck by a small silver pickup truck. The truck left the scene and has not been located.
