GULFPORT, Fla. (WFLA) — A Gulfport woman is accused of driving drunk with a 4-year-old in her car after troopers said she crashed in a construction zone on Interstate 275.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers said they were working in a construction zone on I-275 southbound near mile marker 20 around 9:40 p.m. Sunday when they saw a heavily damaged black car riding on its front right rim.

Troopers said they conducted a traffic stop on the driver, who was identified as 46-year-old Kellie Ann Grueninger.

According to troopers, Grueninger had slurred speech, bloodshot watery eyes and smelled of alcohol. Authorities said Grueninger refused to complete a field sobriety test.

Troopers said they later learned that Grueninger had crashed into a speed radar trailer inside a work zone.

Officials said Grueninger didn’t report the crash to law enforcement officers and left the trailer lying on the road.

Troopers said Grueninger’s 4-year-old child was in the backseat of the car.

The Florida Highway Patrol said Grueninger was arrested for driving under the influence and leaving the scene of a crash.
