New Balance Introduces a New Fresh Foam Recovery Clog

Foam clogs and recovery footwear have quickly become staples from the pandemic onwards, with just about every major brand putting forth their own entry and new ones dedicated to their own silhouette.

The latest entry now comes from New Balance, which has launched a new Fresh Foam X Rcvy clog Thursday.

Deviating from the trend of one-piece construction, the New Balance Fresh Foam X Rcvry features an injection-molded upper along with a Fresh Foam EVA foam midsole. A removable insole also boasts a raised pattern for what the brand is calling “360-degree massaging,” while the rubber outsole features “pods” for traction. Ventilation holes appear throughout the shoe from midfoot to toe.

Three colorways have rung in the Fresh Foam X Rcvry’s debut, all of which feature blue insoles. Black and a clay “Tamarind” option maintain otherwise single-color arrangements, while the “Concrete” version goes with a grey two-tone.

Be they molded as slides, clogs or mules, foam footwear has emerged as a go-to both for those looking for casual and comfortable footwear that can easily slip on and off and those looking to bolster their recovery after a workout. If super shoes are becoming more widely adopted in runners’ attempts to get every advantage on race day, recovery shoes are no less a part of the equation as even down time doesn’t go to waste.

The New Balance Fresh Foam X Rcvry is out now through the brand’s website. Pricing is set at $100.
