Snowbird, Utah, Announces 2024 Spring Operating Schedule, Will Remain Open Through Memorial Day

Spring is here, and ski resorts like Snowbird, Utah, are announcing how their operating schedules will change as the end of the season approaches.

Alongside upcoming reductions in terrain and operating dates, Snowbird stated that it plans to remain open through "at least" Memorial Day.

The first date to know at Snowbird is April 14th, when Mid-Gad, Wilbere, Gadzoom, Gad 2, Chickadee (chairlift and conveyor), Baby Thunder, and the Thunder Tube will close.

On April 21st, Baldy Express closes, with The Aerial Tram, Peruvian Express, Peruvian Tunnel, Mineral Basin, and Little Cloud remaining open.

Beyond April, on May 6th, spring operating hours—8 A.M. to 2 P.M.—kick in, followed by the end of midweek skiing. From May 12th onwards, Snowbird is only open on the weekends.

As noted previously, Snowbird plans to continue offering lift-accessed skiing through at least May 27th, weather and conditions permitting. A closing date hasn't been announced yet.

Spring at Snowbird, and other ski resorts for that matter, is one of the best times to get out on the slopes. The lift lines are typically shorter, the snow is soft, and, as the weather warms up, skiing in a t-shirt becomes possible, creating a sublime combination that pairs the mountains with beach day sensibilities.

Obviously, powder skiing remains undefeated—you're reading POWDER, after all—but slushy laps under the sun come in a close, close second. Just keep the sunblock on hand. You don't want to end the day looking like a lobster.
