2024 RBC Heritage Full Field: After the Masters, a Signature Event in Hilton Head

The post-Masters hangover is real. 

If you’re reading this (and thank you), chances are you’ve been glued to your devices for days, watching every feed and taking in every piece of content around the year’s first major. There’s just nothing like Augusta National, whether you’re a fan or now-two-time champion Scottie Scheffler.

Now, sigh, we have to wait 51 weeks to do it again.

But on the bright side, most of the players you saw last week will be teeing it up again with barely enough time to run home for a change of clothes.

The RBC Heritage, the traditional week-after-Masters relaxation stop in Hilton Head Island, S.C., is a signature event. So the PGA Tour’s best will get another $20 million purse and elevated FedEx Cup points—and a plaid jacket, not a green one.

As tempting as it may be to catch a nap this Sunday, the 55-year-old event has delivered some great finishes in recent years. Matt Fitzpatrick won in a playoff last year over Jordan Spieth, and Spieth won the year before that over Patrick Cantlay.

Those three are all scheduled to play this week along with world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, though the Masters champ may bail if wife Meredith goes into labor with their first child. Only Viktor Hovland is sitting this out among OWGR top-10 ranked players on Tour.

The venue is Harbour Town Golf Links, a change of pace from many weeks on Tour. The 7,213-yard par-71 layout off Calibogue Sound is tree-lined tight with tiny greens, requiring precision and a great short game. Players like Stewart Cink and Jim Furyk are no bombers but are among the champions who have won twice at Harbour Town.
