As part of an international coalition to equip the Ukrainian military with modern UAVs, Canada will send Kyiv 450 SkyRanger multi-purpose drones, Ukraine’s Defense Ministry reported on April 15.

SkyRanger is designed for surveillance and intelligence gathering. These drones can also be used to transport and deliver cargo.

The message also said that Germany will provide Ukraine with VECTOR 211 reconnaissance drones, and Lithuania has committed EUR 3 million ($3.2 million) to produce FPV (first-person view) drones for Ukraine.

The Netherlands has confirmed plans to purchase Heidrun RQ-35 drones worth EUR 200 million ($213 million), together with Denmark and Germany.

“The situation at the front changes daily; the enemy continues to attack civilian sites, especially targeting energy infrastructure,” said Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Kateryna Chornohorenko.

“We need tools for an asymmetric response. The time for discussing resolutions has passed; we need them now.”
