AUSTIN (KXAN) — Parking rates at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport Red and Blue garages will increase starting Monday, April 1.

AUS said it is seeing “increased demand” for on-airport parking due to higher passenger activity. More than 22 million passengers boarded a flight in or out of the airport in 2023, making it the busiest year on record for AUS.

Last year’s numbers beat the previous record, set in 2022, by over one million.

“AUS regularly sees parking facilities at or near capacity during holidays and special events in Austin due to the increased volume of passengers,” the release said.

The Red Garage, which previously cost $29 a day, will now cost $32 a day. The Blue Garage will increase from $19 a day to $23 a day. Economy parking remains $12 a day, AUS said.

The release said the raised rates help add revenue to fund the airport’s Journey With AUS expansion program, which includes a new West Parking Garage.
