More than 95,000 people in Wisconsin are still without electricity as of Wednesday night after a winter storm brought heavy wet snow and strong winds throughout the state.

The We Energies outage map shows that, as of 8:30 p.m., 36,993 people are without power. The largest concentration of outages are in Appleton, Neenah, Seymour and Pulaski.

The Wisconsin Public Service outage map shows that 58,478 people are out of service due to 1,616 outages. The outages were primarily in the northern and central parts of Wisconsin.

The utility companies issued a statement Wednesday night saying they have restored power to more than 110,000 and expect to have the rest restored by end of Thursday.

Crews have found significant damage from the storm that brought heavy, wet snow throughout central and northern Wisconsin, along with strong wind gusts throughout the state. In Green Bay, gusts were reported at up to 56 miles per hour in the evening.

Crews reported damaged utility poles, downed power lines, and large trees and tree limbs falling onto their electric equipment.
