RUMFORD — The University of Maine at Augusta’s Rumford Center, at 60 Lowell St., is set to hold a nursing program open house from 1-4 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 11.

In addition to learning more about UMA’s nursing programs, participants can see a demonstration of the new Nursing Simulation Lab and meet with admissions and financial aid representatives.

“Earning a college degree has never been more local or affordable. In addition to being able to complete the BSN program locally in Rumford, UMA has over 40 other degrees and certificates that can be completed at the Center. We also have a Zero Tuition program for eligible full-time students. Anyone interested in earning their college degree or certificate, even if they aren’t interested in nursing, should attend this Open House as we will have information on all of our programs available,” Bradley said, according to a news release from Rumford Center Director Jim Bradley.

Chelsea Coffin of West Paris will graduate from the BSN program this May. “Being a nurse isn’t about your patients remembering your name, but instead it’s about the feeling and impact a patient makes you feel. Having a nursing program that is close to home and caring for those in my community in their time of need is a rewarding and honoring feeling.”
