(KRON) — A man who allegedly pointed a firearm at a group of construction workers Wednesday evening was arrested following a standoff, according to the San Bruno Police Department. San Bruno PD received a call at around 5 p.m. Wednesday regarding an altercation on the 100 block of Elm Avenue.

A local resident had reportedly got into an argument with construction workers in the area. During the argument, police said, a 58-year-old man pointed a gun at the workers.

In a combined agency effort, San Bruno PD, along with the South San Francisco Police Department, Hillsborough Police Department and San Mateo Police Department, used de-escalation tactics to negotiate with the barricaded suspect. The man was taken into custody without incident.

Once the man was in custody, officers searched his residence and located several firearms, police said. The man was booked into San Mateo County Jail on felony charges related to assault with a firearm. San Bruno PD declined to release his identity.
