Yankees’ Aaron Judge has a great earthquake story that’ll never be flushed!

NEW YORK — The Yankees shared their home opener earthquake stories after Friday’s 3-0 loss to the Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium.

Aaron Judge’s was the best.

“I felt that pregame,” Judge said. “Usually you feel a couple of rumbles in this stadium pre-game, but that one was a little different.”

And where was the Yankees captain when the magnitude 4.8 earthquake hit 30 miles away in New Jersey at 10:32 a.m.?

“Ah, I don’t want to say,” Judge said with a smile. “I don’t want to say.”

Realizing everyone could figure out the punchline, Judge broke into a laugh before adding, “That’s definitely a no comment.”

Judge was told we can guess where he was and what he was doing.

“Yeah,” he said, nodding with a smile.

There was nothing, ah, crappy about manager Aaron Boone’s earthquake story.

His was strange.

The earthquake’s epicenter was Hunterdon County, N.J., one mile from Tewksbury, and Boone swears it occurred while he was behind the batting cage watching BP having just finished talking about 1986-87 Yankees pitcher Bob Tewksbury.

“You can’t make that up,” Boone said. “We realized that about five minutes later. I said, ‘We were just talking about Bob..”

Why was Boone and Flaherty talking about a pitcher who retired 26 years ago on opening day at Yankee Stadium?

“I don’t want to go too far down that road,” Boone said. “It’s not that interesting.”

Neither were the Yankees. After starting the season with six wins in seven games on the road, they were shut out on six hits by the Blue Jays and Juan Soto didn’t do anything in his first home game, 0-for-4 with two strikeouts.

Judge planned to quickly, ah, flush the Yankees’ second loss in eight games and look ahead to getting back on track Saturday night.

“It’s not the end result we wanted,” Judge said. “We really didn’t give (fans) too much to cheer about. We’re going to come back out (Saturday) and get things going.”
