GRAND RAPIDS, MI – A Grand Rapids state representative has denied wrongdoing after being investigated for what she called an “accounting error” that threatened her having to pay back a $5,000 COVID relief business grant.

That investigation by Kent County’s attorneys, and later an outside law firm, into state Rep. Kristian Grant, D-Grand Rapids, determined that Grant didn’t have to pay back the money after she resolved a discrepancy on her grant application by revising her 2019 taxes three years later.
