New information unfolds in Ext. 18 stabbing

Police confirmed that they are investigating a murder and suspected rape case after the woman was found stabbed.

The acting spokesperson of the Mpumalanga Police, Colonel Donald Mdhuli, told the Middelburg Observer that the police are currently investigating a suspected rape and murder case.

This follows the discovery of a 58-year-old woman in Extension 18, who was found dead in her garage with stab wounds on Tuesday.

According to Col Mdhuli, the police were dispatched to the woman’s home around 19:00 after her brother found her naked and covered in blood.
Additionally, a rape case involving a wheelchair bound 15-year-old girl, who was also found naked in the same house, is also being investigated.

Col Mdhuli urged the public to assist in the apprehension of the suspect by contacting the investigation officer, Sergeant Detective Banze, on 079 420 0535 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
