Moorpark City Manager Troy Brown received an approximately $20,000 raise Wednesday night from the City Council.

Members voted 5-0 to increase Brown's annual salary to about $263,973 from $243,963. The new amount is based on a rate of $126.91 per hour, up from $117.29.

The 8.2% raise followed an annual performance evaluation by the council.

The increase will be budgeted between the current fiscal year and the new fiscal year that starts in July, City Attorney Kevin Ennis told the council. Brown's new pay is retroactive to his March 15 paycheck, Ennis said.

Brown started the job in March 2018 with a base salary of $206,336. He previously served as city manager in Tracy and replaced Steve Kueny, who retired after serving 33 years in the role.
