LINCOLN, R.I. (WPRI) — Lincoln star guard Wayne McNamara was named the 2023-24 Rhode Island Gatorade Player of the Year on Thursday morning.

The senior averaged 24.8 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game as he helped the Lions win the RIIL Division 2 title for the first time in 25 years.

McNamara becomes the first Lincoln boys basketball player to win the prestigious award.
