64-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after RV Collision near Jackson Slough Road

ISLETON, CA (July 26, 2023) – Monday morning, Romeo Rones was killed in a single-vehicle RV crash on Highway 12. Dispatcher received calls in the area around 8:00 a.m., near Jackson Slough Road. According to reports, 64-year-old Rones was driving an RV in the area when he lost control for reasons unknown. The RV then veered into a nearby embankment where it came to rest. Medics arrived and pronounced Rones, of Pittsburgh who was the sole occupant of the vehicle dead at the scene. Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, officers are still trying to determine what caused Rones to drift off the highway.
