Hiker in critical condition after being rescued from Homestead Trail in Palm Desert

A hiker is in critical condition after firefighters rescued them from the Homestead hiking trail in Palm Desert on Saturday.

The hiker had a medical emergency about 1/4 miles up the trail and was being taken via helicopter to an ambulance that will drive them to a local hospital, Cal Fire said on X around 10:30 a.m. The incident was reported at 9:45 a.m.

No other information was immediately available.
