Survived by son Mark Neilson Abrams, grandson Christopher Jacob Church, brothers Charles and Melvin Abrams; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Riddell graduated from Demopolis High School where he played football and baseball. He worked for Gulf States Paper Corporation in Demopolis, Alabama for 43 years; and was a country farmer. In his faith, he was a deacon of First Presbyterian Church in Demopolis prior to moving to Tuscaloosa in 2008. Overall, he loved the outdoors: deer hunting, fishing, gardening and attending to his cows on the farm. His hobby was working! In Tuscaloosa, he was an active member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.

His biggest joy was his grandson Christopher; who has been his main and best buddy and caregiver as he fought Alzheimer’s in the last chapter of his life.

Services will be held Thursday, March 21 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1301 The Townes, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, 35406 at 2:00 pm. Reverend Richard Vise will officiate. The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff at Caring Days, Southern Care Hospice, home caregivers and so many special friends.
