A Wynnewood man is behind bars after Collingdale police found him hiding inside a bus with a stolen handgun.

Collingdale Police Chief Patrick Kilroy said officers were dispatched Sunday at 12:13 p.m. to a private bus rental lot on the 100 block of Clifton Avenue for the report of two people hiding in a vehicle.

Officers arrived and were directed to a private rental bus on the lot where a male and female were inside.

Police detained the two and found that Desmond Forrester, 19, Wynnewood was carrying a 9 mm handgun that had been reported stolen out of Upper Darby.

Forrester was charged with carrying a firearm without a permit, receiving stolen property, disorderly conduct and trespass.

According to court records, he was arraigned by District Judge Andrew Goldberg and held on 10% of $75,000 bail, which he was unable to post and taken to the George W. Hill Correctional facility to await a preliminary hearing scheduled for April 12.

The female was issued a citation for trespass and released.
