Nuncio Falco OBITUARY

Our father, Nuncio Falco was born on March 30, 1931. The first born of immigrant parents, he followed his Sicilian father’s footsteps, and became a farmer. Throughout his life, farming was in his blood and he drove his tractor until the day he died. While farming at the family farm, he came across a beautiful young woman named Rose Marie. They met when Rose Marie was visiting from Oklahoma and staying at her Uncle Love’s farm in West Riverside. Placed by Providence, it was directly across the street from the Falco Farm. It was love at first sight. After three days, he proposed. Two years later, Nuncio married the love of his life, Rose Marie. He often told his children, “My life started when I met your mother.” Nuncio and Rose Marie were married almost 50 years when Rose Marie died in 2008. Together, they raised five children and were blessed with five grandchildren. After Rose Marie’s death, Nuncio later became a great grandfather.Nuncio was hard-working, dependable, honest, trustworthy, and always took care of his family. His Catholic faith carried him through his life, especially the last 14 years without Rose Marie. After losing his son, Joseph in 1983, Nuncio became devoted to praying his Saint Joseph prayer every morning, without fail.He was a decent, good-hearted man who loved history and who was an avid reader. Nuncio was also a proud Korean War combat veteran, where he served in the 45th Infantry Division. In the last years of his life, he shared more details of his time in Korea. Nuncio was in good health until his last breath and his hope to die at home was realized on August 9, 2022. He lived an honest and real life, where friends and neighbors help each other, where your word matters, and where responsibility to family is everything. As much as our hearts are broken for the loss we suffer, we rejoice in knowing that God called him home where he could finally be with the love of his life, Rose Marie and be reunited with their son, Joseph.Happy Birthday, Dad! We love you and miss you. Your youngest, Madeleine and Jennifer Falco
