BOYNE FALLS, MI - We’ve still got snow on the slopes and sunshine coming our way, so that means there’s a chance for Michigan’s ski crowd to chase some bluebird days. Boyne Mountain Resort is stretching its ski season well into April this year, and will be open this weekend with at least a couple runs available.

“Ditch the goggles and grab the shades this weekend. Sunshine is taking center stage on the slopes as we open Mountain Express for some spring laps on Victor and Hemlock this Saturday and Sunday,” Boyne staff said. “Cruise down runs softened by the sun, then carve your way to a legendary après ski adventure in The Back Forty. Think frosty cocktails, good tunes, and laughter with friends – it’s the cherry on top of a day well spent outside.

“Spring on the slopes at Boyne Mountain isn’t your average ski day, it’s all about grabbing bragging rights that you’re still on snow in April.”

Boyne Mountain recently made the switch to weekend-only skiing as the season ramps down.

They plan to open Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Ramshead Park is also expected to be open, but riders will need to access that terrain area by taking the Mountain Express up the slopes, then hiking over to the top of the Ramshead lift. “Riders can lap the park before hiking back over to the top of Mountain Express and riding back down to the base area.”

To see the current conditions, check the resort’s website here.

With a shorter window on the slopes, it means more time for the Après Ski scene at the resort’s Back Forty area. This fun spot in The Village has music, outdoor lights, options for meals and adult beverages.

A special for skiers: If you have a valid season pass from any Michigan ski resort, you can ride at Boyne Mountain for just $20 per day. If you’re a Boyne season pass holder, you can bring a friend to ride with you for $20. To get this deal, just show your season pass at the lift ticket window. Indy, Ikon, and Epic passes also qualify for the deal.
