Pedestrian Crash near Baldwin Park Boulevard Resulted in Fatality

BALDWIN PARK, CA (December 20, 2023) – Early Tuesday morning, a person died in a pedestrian-auto collision on 10 Freeway.

The CHP responded to the collision around 4:14 p.m. along the freeway’s westbound lanes near Baldwin Park Boulevard.

Upon arrival, the officers learned that the vehicle hit the pedestrian walking between the No. 5 lanes and the shoulder of the freeway.

Tragically, the first responders declared the victim dead at the scene. However, their identity remains undisclosed to the public, pending notification from the next of kin.

It was unclear if the driver involved stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

In the end, the California Highway Patrol closed one of the westbound lanes of 10 Freeway and Baldwin Park Boulevard off-ramp for investigation. Authorities will release additional information as it becomes available to the public.
