Grass Valley Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash Victim Identified

GRASS VALLEY, CA (June 9, 2022) – Authorities identified 36-year-old Jessica Johnson as the victim of a fatal crash on State Route 20 Saturday evening.

According to the CHP, the crash happened around 6:30 pm when a 2002 Acura collided head-on with a 2022 Ford F-350 along Highway 20.

Investigators said the Acura was traveling eastbound on State Route 20 at a high-rate of speed. However, the driver did not make the right curve in the roadway and crossed the westbound lane causing a head-on collision.

Unfortunately the passenger of the Acura, Jessica Johnson, died at the scene.

Meanwhile, authorities said the Acura driver, 34-year-old Travis Reynaga of Grass Valley sustained major injuries.

Furthermore, the other driver was identified as Donald Mayo and his passenger, Denise Mayo, sustained moderate to major injuries.

Mayo’s passenger, Matt Perkins suffered from minor injuries and declined medical treatment. Grass Valley Officials continue to investigate the fatal crash.
